Our Board
President
Kelly Michel
Kelly Michel has two students at Canyon Creek Elementary and loves the school. When her children started there a few years ago, she wanted to help make events fun, support the teachers, and get to know other parents. Joining the PTO was the best way she knew to get connected, and it has been a great way for her to be part of the school community. She loves making connections and hopes to welcome all families who want to be a part of our PTO.
Vice President
Cori Gwartney
Being part of the PTO wasn't just about fundraising or organizing bake sales. For Cori Gwartney, it is about bridging the gap between home and the classroom. She sees that when parents show up, the school environment transforms. By collaborating with the principal and staff, she understands the "why" behind school policies, allowing her to advocate for her child with clarity rather than frustration. Her participation sends a silent, powerful message to her son: your education matters enough for me to be here. The school wasn't just a building where she dropped her child off anymore; it was a place she helped make better. She realized that while one person can make a suggestion, a collective of invested parents creates a support system that ensures no student, or teacher, has to navigate the journey alone.
Treasurer
June Min
June Min has proudly served on the board of Canyon Creek Elementary’s PTO for the past 5 years. This is her second year as Treasurer, having served previously as both Secretary and President. June has two children; Luca (5th grade) and November (Nova - 2nd grade). We are a Canyon Creek family, Kyung, June’s husband, has contributed greatly to the school community through his design work.
